Servo planetary reducer material heat treatment method, servo planetary reducer is another name for planetary reducer in the industry. Its main transmission structure is: planet wheel, sun wheel, inner gear ring. Compared with other reducers, servo planetary reducer has high rigidity, high precision (single stage can be achieved within 1 minute), high transmission efficiency (single stage in 97-98%), high torque/volume ratio, lifetime maintenance free and other characteristics. Most are mounted on stepper motors and servo motors to reduce speed, improve torque, and match inertia.


1, surface quenching
There are two common surface quenching methods: high frequency quenching (for small size gears) and flame quenching (for large size gears). When the surface hardened hardened layer includes the bottom of the tooth root, the effect is good. Surface quenching commonly used materials for the mass fraction of carbon about 0.35%~0.5% of the steel, tooth surface hardness can reach 45~55HRC.

2, carburizing quenching
Carburized quenched gear has the maximum bearing capacity, but it must adopt the finishing process (tooth grinding) to eliminate the heat treatment deformation to ensure the accuracy.
Carburized quenched gears are usually made of alloy steel with the mass fraction of carbon of 0.2%~0.3% before carburizing, and the tooth surface hardness is usually in the range of 58%~62%HRC. When the tooth surface strength is lower than 57HRC, the brittleness increases when the tooth surface strength is higher than 62HRC. The hardness of tooth core is generally 310~ 330HbW. The hardness of carburized quenched gear should be gradually reduced from the tooth surface to the deep layer, while the effective carburizing depth should be gradually reduced from the surface to the deep layer, and the effective carburizing depth should be the depth from the surface to the hardness of 52.5HRC.
The effect of carburizing and quenching on the bending fatigue strength of gear teeth is not only to improve the hardness of the core, but also to have residual compressive stress on the surface, which can reduce the stress in the maximum tensile stress zone of gear teeth. Therefore, the tooth root can not be ground when grinding, and the amount of hob should be used when hobbing.

3, nitriding
The use of nitriding can ensure high tooth surface hardness and wear resistance under the condition of minimum deformation, no final finishing can be done after heat treatment, and the bearing capacity is improved. This is of special significance for internal gears, which are not easy to grind.

4,want to mesh gear hardness combination
When both large and small gears have soft tooth surfaces, the tooth surface hardness of small gears should be higher than that of large gears. When the two wheels are hard tooth surface and the hardness is high, the hardness of the two wheels is the same.
Selecting good material of planetary gear reducer is helpful to improve the bearing capacity and service life of gear reducer.
